3 Rules for Perfect Matte Paint

Posted in NEWS AND UPDATES by Autobrite on July 14th 2019
Keeping a matte finish car looking good enough to show off can be a challenge, particularly if you aren’t armed with the right products for the job. As the surface of the paint is non-reflective, even a slight smudge can throw off the car’s entire image but if you follow our 3 rules, you’ll never be disappointed with the cars look again!

Protect the Paint

After taking ownership of a matte car, your first port of call should be to get it cleaned up and protected from the elements. Make sure you use a matte-safe soap like our Citrus Pearl Ultimate Cleaning car shampoo and then immediately protect it with a sealant or dressing designed for matte surfaces. Autobrite’s Nano-Hybrid Paint Coating is the ideal product as its protective layer can last for up to 12 months if applied correctly.

Wash Regularly

Even with a long-lasting protectant in place, it is still necessary to regularly wash the cars paint to keep on top of dirt and grime build up that can spoil the overall appearance. While nano coatings will stay in place while you clean, they need to be maintained at least twice per month in order to protect to their full ability.

Carry Emergency Equipment

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail! Maintaining matte paint is all about being prepared as it’s impossible to avoid debris and dirt build up, even if your car is locked in a garage most of the time. Carry a quick detailing spray and a microfibre towel in the glovebox of your car to be armed against marks and smudges whenever you’re away from home and in need of a quick fix.
