How to Care for Car Interiors

Posted in NEWS AND UPDATES by Autbrite on June 10th 2019
While many car owners spend hours fixated on shining the outside of a car to get it looking pristine, they forget that it is the inside of the car where most of the time is spent. It’s all well and good having a car that will woo anyone who happens to glance in its direction but having a clean interior will make you feel more at home when you’re behind the wheel.

Clean the Seats

Although the seats may not seem dirty to the naked eye, all sorts of dirt and germs can find their way onto them. Every time a passenger has a seat, or a pet comes for a ride, they will bring dirt and dust along for the journey. Make sure to choose a cleaner that is appropriate for the material. If you have leather or vinyl, these seats are easily wiped down with some disinfectant and then some conditioner. Upholstery, on the other hand, can take a bit more effort and you’ll have to work the cleaner in to remove contaminants.

Detailing Spray

Once you’ve cleaned the seats, it’s a good idea to apply detailing spray to lock in shine and help give a pristine finish. Simply spray on and work into leather or vinyl for a superior shine. Of course, the shiny surface of these materials allows cleanliness to really radiate, but this isn’t as simple for upholstery seats. Instead of using a detailing spray, use a dressing to restore fade and make colours look bolder, brighter and newer. Make sure the dressing you apply Is a colour match by testing on a small, hidden area first.

Freshen Up

Once the interior of your car is clean, you may want to use an air freshener to eliminate the odours of the cleaning products. Autobrite has a range of scents that can be sprayed onto any surface, ensuring that the pleasant aroma is long lasting.
