Your car’s paintwork is constantly exposed to a variety of contaminants such as tar, brake dust, tree sap, and bird droppings, which can cause damage to your vehicle’s finish if left untreated. It’s essential to remove contaminants from your car’s paintwork. Over time, tar brake dust, and other contaminants which end up on your car, from simply driving, can become embedded in your car’s paint. This can cause it to lose its shine and luster.

Plus, these contaminants can cause serious damage to your car’s paint if left untreated. Brake dust, for example, is highly corrosive and can eat away at your car’s clear coat, leading to unsightly rust spots and peeling paint.

Just the Tonic Tar & Glue Remover is a powerful solvent-based cleaner. Designed to effectively dissolve and remove stubborn tar, adhesive residue, and other contaminants. Great for use on paintwork, glass, and plastic surfaces.

Just the Tonic Tar & Glue Remover is easy to use and can be applied using a spray bottle or a cloth. Its fast-acting formula allows it to quickly break down and dissolve contaminants, making them easy to wipe away. This tar and glue remover is safe for use on all types of surfaces, and its powerful formula ensures that it can tackle even the most stubborn residues.

To use, apply Just the Tonic liberally to the affected areas, and leave for 2-3 minutes. This product will begin to work instantly, so do not let the product dry on the surface. We also strongly advise not leaving the product for more than the recommended time, but rather re-applying once the first application has been removed.

Using our clay bars

Before use, please ensure that your vehicle’s surface is clean from tar spots. You can use Just the Tonic for this job.

Tear off a small piece of clay, and flatten this in your hand to around the size of 50mm (this is around the diameter of 2 10p pieces next to each other). Now apply a spritz of the Quickshine QD to an area of 30cm x 30cm.

Using light pressure, work the clay piece back and forth over the sprayed area, applying quickshine as needed to ensure an even lubrication. You may feel some resistance, but these are the contaminants bonded to your paintwork.

As you work the clay into the panel, it will become smoother, and the contaminants will become visible on the clay piece. Once one side has been used, flip it over and begin using the other side. Once you have used the clay on all of your car’s surfaces, we recommend re-washing to remove any loose contaminants and clay lube.

Safety when using decontamination products

When using any of the Autobrite Direct decontamination products, we strongly recommend thoroughly reading the instructions carefully before using the product. It’s important to also avoid using these products in direct sunlight, or working on a hot surface. This can cause the product to dry out too quickly, and potentially damage surfaces.

Additionally, be sure to wear gloves and protective eyewear to avoid getting any of the product on your skin or in your eyes.
